Central Tanzania


The missionaries of St John in Tanzania are a vibrant group of 78 parishes known as the Gospel Catholic Church, served by 80 clergy.  Bishop Daudi Chidawali oversees the work which includes three orphanages, an active women’s ministry organization and the Buigiri Theological School, located about 30 kilometers from Dodoma.  More up to date information about this work and how you can contribute can be found at the Office of Foreign Missions website

Anglican Diocese Of Western Tanganyika


Encouraged by a friendship struck between Bishop Gerard Mpango and Bishop Frederick Fick, a shared ministry relationship is growing.  Bishop Mpango is the diocesan bishop of Western Tanganyika for the Anglican Church and oversees an expansive work with 150 parishes in the largest geographic diocese in the nation of Tanzania.  Father Francis Wardega MSJ recently returned from ministering with Bishop Mpango.  Read more about this exciting and fast growing diocese at the Office of Foreign Missions website.

Victoria-Nyanza


The Rt Rev Boniface Kwangu, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Victoria-Nyanza in Tanzania, has invited Father Francis Wardega to come to his diocese and teach clergy and lay leaders. Details are being worked out but the trip is tentatively scheduled for August of 2008. The general plan is for Fr Francis to go to several selected locations within the diocese and teach smaller groups of clergy and lay leaders in the diocese for four-five days each.


The Anglican Diocese of Victoria Nyanza covers the regions of Mwanza and Shinyanga in northwest Tanzania and is essentially, the southern shore of Lake Victoria. The diocese encompasses an area of 7,373 square kilometers. Mwanza is the second largest city in Tanzania and one of the major ports of Lake Victoria.


The Diocese has 208 churches, 55 Pastors and 208 Evangelists.
