Dodoma

In Tanzania is a vibrant group of Anglicans known as the Capital Diocese of the Gospel Catholic Church.  The Rt Rev Daudi Chidawali leads the 45 parishes, 60 clergy, and many faithful Anglicans from Christ the King Cathedral in Dodoma, the national capital of Tanzania.

The church ministers mainly to the poor in rural villages, with minimal resources and maximum grace.  Their worship is Anglican, from the SALA, the Tanzanian Book of Common Prayer.  They are committed to being faithful to the Holy Scriptures, and have applied to the GAFCON Secretariat for membership in the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans.

Victoria-Nyanza

The Rt Rev Boniface Kwangu, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Victoria-Nyanza in Tanzania, invited Father Francis Wardega to come to his diocese and teach clergy and lay leaders. In summer of 2008, Fr Francis Wardega spent 20 days teaching, celebrating, preaching and living in the Anglican Diocese of Victoria-Nyanza on the south shore of Lake Victoria in Tanzania.

Teaching courses at Nyakato Bible College, the Diocesan School for Ministry, located in the city of Mwanza, Father Francis taught priests and deacons who were already ordained but who lacked further education.  He taught those who were going to go back to the parish and teach others.

In local parishes, he preached the Gospel and provided words of encouragement to faithful Anglicans who were disturbed about the direction that the Anglican Communion was headed.

Bishop Kwangu, was extremely pleased and has invited teachers from the society to return again as soon as possible, and to stay for a longer time.
